Fourth Annual Membership Meeting

We are pleased to host the 4th Annual MTEC Membership meeting at the Charleston Area Convention Center in Charleston, SC. Watch this Welcome Video to learn more about the area!


The MTEC 4th Annual Membership meeting is FREE to MTEC members, government, and military attendees. Non-members will be permitted to attend portions of the event and must pay a $150.00 registration fee.

Members and government/military personnel are welcome to attend and participate in all events, including the Two Way Discussion session featuring upcoming funding opportunities, breakout sessions with the USAMRMC representatives and MTEC Officers, and specialty support group panel discussions. Non-members are invited to attend the first portion of the event (until 2:30 PM on March 20), as well as the networking event from 5:00–7:00 PM on March 20. Keep a sharp eye on the email notices and this site for additional information.


Delivering VALUE to the attendee. The MTEC meeting is an opportunity for the members to interact directly with the military/government and non-military funding sponsors who are affiliated with MTEC. Additionally, MTEC leadership will describe initiatives to increase the use of the MTEC vehicle, attract other funding sources, and facilitate collaboration between members and the military. Some of the session highlights include:

•  Dr. George V. Ludwig, Ph.D., Principal Assistant for Research & Technology and Mrs. Dawn L. Rosarius, MS, PMP, RAC, Principal Assistant for Acquisition will discuss the effects of the United States Army Medical Research and Materiel Command (USAMRMC) realignment into the Army Futures Command and the potential budget implications
• Joint Program Committee (JPC) Leaders will discuss the future needs for R&D within each research topic area to align technologies and dollars
• A public-private panel with industry, foundation, and venture capital participants explaining practices and procedures that lead toward partnerships and potential funding
• Poster and networking session to allow for interaction with government sponsors and other members
• MTEC presentation on the forecast of upcoming solicitations in this calendar year
• Some of the session highlights include: methods that will lead to successful teaming opportunities
• MTEC President’s discussion of future endeavors
• Opportunities to meet and discuss ideas with MTEC Officers and USAMRMC’s Medical Technology Support Center Project Office
• Overview and lessons learned from current MTEC projects
• Feedback session for members to express concerns and ideas
• First Annual MTEC Researcher of the Year Award

National Telehealth Center of Excellence Seal

The Medical University of South Carolina is pleased to host MTEC members for a tour of their nationally recognized Telehealth Center of Excellence, as well as to meet with and review laboratories of three of their innovative scientists engaged in research aimed at translating science and data into medical solutions – solutions that could be employed to support and treat the military and veterans.

Transportation will be provided from the Convention Center to MUSC but seating is limited to 25. Please register early to save a seat!
